What Black Dragon is this? There are so many references, in fiction, history, different cultures. You could wear this whiskey t-shirt for any of these stories, and no one would be the wiser. But as you'll shortly find out, this shirt pays homage to something particularly American.

The above is Dungeons and Dragons lore. Interestingly, it is not too far off the topic of our Black Dragon -- the USS New Jersey (BB-62), which earned 19 battle stars, more than any other of the Iowa-class battleships, nicknamed the Black Dragon. It is the most decorated battleship in US Navy history. Launched December 7, 1941, 49,657 long tons, 887 feet seven inches in length, speed 33 knots with four 110,000 HP turbines.
During World War II, it shelled Guam and Okinawa. It served in WW2, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, being decommissioned in 1991 after 21 years. It now serves as at museum ship, berthed in Camden, NJ.
The Iowa class were mighty beasts -- fast battleships ordered between 1939 and 1940.. Four ships were completed: Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
